HELP TEACH 150,000 PEOPLE TO NULLIFY!

STAY TUNED!  We’ll post updates over the course of this campaign!

I’m excited about the TAC -- aside from donating, how can I help?

There are so many ways you can help!  The most direct way to help is for individuals and organizations to help us spread the word to audiences far and wide.  Like our video at the top of the page and tweet it out to your friends; follow us on Facebook and invite your friends to as well; make an announcement at your school, community group or church; or forward our page to all your friends and family with your own personal message.

What do donors receive for giving?

Rewards range from digital downloads of the entire video series for $15 to a variety of special gifts. For more information, just look to the right and scroll down!

Can you exceed the goal?

Yes, we can, and we hope we will.  Reaching 150,000 people is really just an important starting point.  We really need to reach millions.  Once we start getting close to our goal, we’ll extend it – and let you know how we intend to take things to another level.  That will include, how much we need to raise and what we plan to do.

If you have significant means and would like to make a gift that will take us to the next “tier” – please contact us at 213.935.0553 to discuss.

What if we don't hit the fundraising goal?

TAC holds fundraisers every six months.  For the last two years, we’ve hit our goal all four times. This is due to the fact that our supporters trust us – we hear it all the time – they know that when we ask for something we mean it.  And somehow, even though it’s often really tough, we end up hitting the goal.  But, we realize that this won’t always be the case.  If we don’t hit the goal, we’re still going to accomplish a great deal.  We’ll simply have to downscale the projected reach by the % that we miss the goal by.  As the fundraiser pushes forward, we’ll post updates and let you know how things are going.

When will I receive my rewards?

We will be shipping all rewards as soon as they are available. Please see the details beside each reward.

When will my credit card be charged?

Unlike funding campaigns on sites like Kickstarter or Indiegogo, your card will be charged the moment you submit your online donation.  By hosting the project on our own site, we save up to 9% in fees that these sites charge for this special service. In other words, we’d have to raise almost $3000 more. Think of it like we do – more bang for the buck!

JOIN US TO HELP REACH AND TEACH NEW PEOPLE ABOUT NULLIFICATION!

I’m Michael Boldin, the founder and executive director of the Tenth Amendment Center.

We need to educate NEW people – people we’ve never been able to reach before – about the principles of the Constitution, and nullification to defend your liberty.  We’ll be producing 26 online videos in the next 6 months – and making them available as a DVD or a full digital download at the completion of the series.

We’re taking on the most powerful government in the history of the world.  Every contribution counts.

We just need your help to get it done.

All funds from this campaign will go towards the infrastructure needed to create, produce and promote these videos.

  • $9,984 – 26 Videos, averaging $384 each. This includes labor and licensing for clips, audio, and all production.
  • $7,500 – marketing budget. We estimate a total marketing cost (including, but not limited to, advertising, labor, promotions, email campaigns) of approximately $0.10 per video view. The rest of the views come from organic reach – visitors on our site, to our social media pages, and via YouTube. This is a bit higher than the amount we’re currently experiencing, but we expect it to be slightly increased in order to reach a larger audience. If it turns out that our costs remain low, we’ll simply use the funds to reach even MORE people!
  • $10,440 – Keep the lights on!  In order for me to spend the amount of time needed concepting, producing, and filming these videos, it’s extremely important for us to keep our foundation strong.  There are three part-time freelancers who work for us as they have time available each week.  They often put in 20-30 hours or more, and we pay them what we can.  Currently this is $1740 per month.  Having them on staff relieves me of what would be an insurmountable amount of work each week – contacting legislators, writing blogs, doing research, graphic design, and more.  They are my backbone, and keeping them on the team ensures I’ll have the time available to do this project right and move the TAC forward.
  • $2,000 – direct mailing. While many people follow our posts on our website, or get updates by email, facebook, twitter and the like – a larger number of people do not. In this digital age, it’s easy for people to get overwhelmed by the number of online messages that are out there.  That’s why we’ll be sure to send some personalized information about this campaign to a small group of our top supporters. In the last few years, we’ve learned that we get the best results from campaigns supported by direct mail.  And while it’s too expensive to reach everyone in this manner, we’ll certainly look at increasing this budget if we surpass our goal.
  • $1,000 DVD and digital video production costs.  After the series of 26 videos are complete, we’ll put them together in a high-quality DVD and digital video download package so we can not only send you copies when you choose a reward package that includes them for supporting this campaign – but these formats will also make the videos even more widely available than they have been individually.

Since our long-term goals require us to reach FAR more than 150,000 people, amounts raised over these needs will be dedicated towards the advertising and staff required to start taking on the next levels – 250,000, 500,000, and beyond.

Whether you can pitch in $5, or $50, or $5000 – every penny counts.  We’re in this together, and together we can advance the Constitution and liberty!

What is this “Teach 150,000 People to Nullify” all about?

Still image from TAC008: The Founders on What You Need to do Right Now

In late September, a long-time TAC supporter reached out to me to suggest that we needed to turn things up a notch, and start connecting in new ways to new people in order to win for the Constitution and liberty.

We’ve gotten really good at educating and activating people already in our circle, our supporters and their friends.  But, in order to make the historic change of course that liberty needs – we simply need to get out of our echo chamber and aggressively teach new people about nullification as the solution to our problems.

We agreed that short, power-packed informational videos, repeating the same message over and over in different and compelling ways – would be a good way to get this done.  In conjunction with another person, these two supporters made a small, but significant donation to get the ball rolling.

We’ve already done what I see as a trial run and have gotten over 50,000 views on our videos.  I’ve learned quite a bit – about improving quality, reaching the people that will be most interested with targeted advertising, and more.

Our goal is to go beyond the people who already support our effort – educating and activating NEW people.

WHAT INSPIRED ME?

In 2006, when I registered the tenthamendmentcenter.com domain name, my goal was simple: Change the minds of people by writing about the endless litany of constitutional violations from the federal government.

With less than $100 bucks, I thought to myself – even if I reach just a handful of people, my time and money will be worth it.

Here we are just a few years later, and the TAC has already accomplished far more than I ever imagined. Instead of a one-person blog, it has grown in a national movement, supported by team members and volunteers all over the country.

Full house for Nullification in Downtown Los Angeles

Full house in Downtown Los Angeles

On November 4, 2014 – when the people of Arizona voted to approve Proposition 122, I know something historic was in the works – something I never could have imagined happening just a few years ago. Here’s part of what they approved:

PERMITS THE STATE TO EXERCISE ITS SOVEREIGN AUTHORITY BY RESTRICTING STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO PURPOSES THAT ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.

Education and activism on state-resistance to federal power – something the Tenth Amendment Center set out to do just over 8 years ago – has now been approved by a majority of voters in the state of Arizona.

While this one vote will not turn things around on its own, it’s a powerful step forward. More importantly, it tells me that our message and tactics – are starting to get into the mainstream.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR?

It’s not just Arizona.  There are states from East to West, from North to South – that are taking strong steps forward to nullify federal “laws” on various issues. In fact, so much has happened that instead of just trying to write blogs about it, for the time we actually had to compile a full report to cover all the issues.  The result? A 30-page “Nullification Movement Report” – the first of its kind.

11 states have passed 10th Amendment legislation to protect the 2nd Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms.

Utah is in the process of considering a bill to turn off the water to the NSA data center in Bluffdale.  Tom Woods, in a recent interview said, “While all the things you guys are doing is great, if you get this one done, it’s historic!”

12-15 states will consider legislation in 2015 to push back on the surveillance state.

5 states are nullifying the unconstitutional ban on industrial hemp farming.

5 states are taking steps to circumvent and effectively nullify unconstitutional FDA regulations that keep potentially life-saving medications from terminally-ill people.

36 states have rejected Obamacare exchanges.  In 2010, we started telling people that it wouldn’t matter in the long run what the Supreme Court did if the states refused to go along with it.

Step by step we keep ramping things up every year.  Reaching new people to support the effort will just multiply the impact of everything we’re already doing.

And while the endless litany of liberty violations coming out of Washington D.C. can easily overwhelm any constitution or liberty activist, it’s essential for us to make a big deal about the good things happening.  That way, people not only realize that change can happen, it encourages more people to get involved.

BANG FOR THE BUCK

In what I sometimes think must be a series of miracles, TAC has been able to get huge reach – while only having the fundraising power of an ant.  Our yearly total receipts are rarely higher than $60,000 – but yet we’ve found a way to get nullification bills introduced and passed, publish 4 books, produce a DVD (the Nullification Documentary in 2010), get major media coverage around the world – all encompassing what my friend Tom Woods says is doing “more than anyone in the world to advance the Jeffersonian principle of nullification.”

The biggest roadblock, unfortunately, is simply funding.

That’s why we’re asking you to help out – and specifically making our goal to reach more people with this message.

This is how we win.

Doing this work is – for lack of a better phrase – an indescribable experience for me. I’ve given up the high-paying job, vacation, insurance, a car, cable tv, a cell phone – and virtually everything else associated with a comfortable modern, American lifestyle.  But the rewards of standing for liberty are much greater than any material comfort I can imagine.

I’ve made amazing friends, built bonds that will last lifetimes, and will never turn my back on what I believe is the right path forward.

The hours are incredibly long – a 60 hour work week, every single week – would barely make a dent in my task list.  But this something that I love with all my heart – and I intend to keep pushing on against all odds.

I’m lucky to have incredible people around me – people who volunteer an amazing amount of hours every week, take on leadership roles, and do the bulk of what needs to get done here.

I’m grateful for my family and my friends, for everyone who pitches in to help out – both with work and with money.  And I’m grateful for you – reading to this point.

I hope you’ll consider putting your financial faith and backing into taking the Tenth Amendment Center to the next level.

Individual liberty is a team effort, and together we can win.

Thank you!
